About Us

St Stephen’s Anglican Church of Bayswater is part of the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne. Anglicans are Christians who belong to a world-wide Anglican Communion, originating from the Church of England.

St Stephen's is an inclusive, welcoming, warm, diverse and family-friendly church in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. Our life at St Stephen's is firmly based on the Eucharist which unites us with Jesus Christ and empowers us to love God and our neighbour. With this as our foundation, we offer a range of spiritual, educational and social activities, along with many opportunities to serve others.

We love our music at St Stephen’s. BC (Before COVID) the choir would lead congregation in the hymns and in the sung parts of the service each week.  We currently have an organist on the first Sunday of the month and music embedded into the service for the remaining Sundays.  The choir convenes for Easter and Christmas and other special times.  It is our hope to return to having a regular organist and choir.

The people of St Stephen's Bayswater commit themselves to serving the people of God here and in the wider community, seeking to meet the pastoral needs of all who seek God. We commit ourselves to grow in faith, to invite and welcome others to share in this journey.
